"Mary Kailek is storytelling of her younger days, of when she’d sew traditional caribou clothing for the police, of the various people, of the Christmas gatherings with the arrival of many with dog teams, the traditional food, and describes the snow houses that were made, and the games that were played, of the Nunamiut and Kuugyuarmiut, and Alaskans various styles of beautiful clothing, of shamans.
She also speaks of muskrat season in the Delta, of the many schooners, and many people eating outside, he Distributor boat, her father being a special constable in Iqaluktuuttiaq and feeling afraid to go to the East and of the Eastern Inuit, and a comical story of watching teenagers preparing a swan for cooking and trying to communicate with the langauge barrier and more.
