William Kuptana is telling stories that he heard from his grandfather and his parents as well as telling stories of what he also witnessed when he was young. Stories of dangerous men killing each other when warring and fighting over women, of physical fitness and strength being very important in winning in battles of one or more opponents, of people killing each other and wasting time warring with each other rather than using that time for hunting, when warring with handcarved bows and arrow and knives prior to contact with White people. William also talks of how their arrow weapons were made, and of how people used shamans long ago.

William Kuptana is storytelling about Kullaq, the very good polar bear hunter, of the first people, the Kangiryuarmiut, that started going to Ikaahuk (Sachs Harbour), Banksland, of the (Eastern Inuit) Qangmalit old timers who called it "Ikaahuk" (Sachs Harbour) prior to arrival of the Europeans who named it Banksland, of the how the hunters hunted muskoxen long ago with bows and arrows and spears, of making drymeat with it, of making a fire by rubbing flint rocks together to create a spark and using Innangniq/arctic cotton and cooking their meals over the fire, of the suffering from cold sometime if their was no seal oil for their qulliq (lamp) that he describes what is needed to light and use, of food shortage until they can get some, of food caches, seal oil storage, animal uses, or clothing shortage that he witnessed when he was growing up, of surviving during the tough way of life, of caribou hunting for clothing and making dry meat, and of the traditional food and drinks.
